Hello Eomere

If you're running Windows Vista, try starting up WoW by right-clicking on the World of Warcraft shortcut, and choosing "Run as administrator" (http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p276/bitsf/vista_admin_02.png).

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=10021047&sid=1#17

If you're using Windows XP, please verify you're logged on an Administrator account. You may need to create a new User Account (The Account Type should be Computer administrator.). Then log on that User Account and try patching.

This is how to make a new User Account in Windows XP:

Try booting into a Selective Startup: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/backgroundapps

If that doesn't help, let's look at what's running in the background:

Click on Start
In the Run or Search field, type:

msinfo32

Then hit Enter or Ok.

This will bring up System Information.

Click on the + sign next to Software Environments
Click on Running Tasks
Click on one item on the right side
Click on Edit, and then Select All (Or hit Ctrl-A)
Click on Edit, and the Copy (Or hit Ctrl-C)

Then Paste everything into a reply.

Then click on Services
Click on one item on the right side
Click on Edit, and then Select All (Or hit Ctrl-A)
Click on Edit, and the Copy (Or hit Ctrl-C)

Paste everything into the post.

Yòrkfièld, use McAfee's removal tool to uninstall McAfee:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Then patch up WoW, and reinstall McAfee.

Eomere, I would uninstall BigFix temporarily. You can reinstall it afterwards.
