![]() Gunsman | Disconnect issuesFri, 01/29/10 03:35:53 PM PST i have been disconecction issues that started happening this tuesday, after our wireless stopped working, had to go to something and reset it i think (im not the one who did it). now both my father and i are experiancing a lot of lag and frequent DC issues.(luckily in the process we noticed that our internet company isnt giving us the service we are paying for, but i guess its always been like that). any help would be greatly appreciated p.s. forgot to mention that WoW seems to be the only thing that isnt working properly, internet explorer still working exactly the same along with my PS3's internet connection. thank you :) *vista *none that i am aware of *--------------- System Information ---------------- Time of this report: 1/14/2010, 21:09:30 Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.0 Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA System Model: Satellite P305 BIOS: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz Memory: 4094MB RAM Page File: 1899MB used, 6486MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. This should give us a better idea as to what might be going on with the connection. Here's how: 1. Start WOW login to the realm you normally play on. 2. Press ALT-TAB to minimize WoW and return to the desktop. 3. Click Start then Run, then type "cmd" 4. In the DOS window type "netstat" 5. Wait until the command prompt appears again, approx 1 minute You will see an IP address connected on port 3724. It will look like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:3724 this is your connection to Blizzard. Now perform a trace route to that IP address to map the route you take to the realm. 1. Go to Start/Run 2. Type "cmd" to bring up the DOS window in the Run command box. 3. Type "tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > "C:\trace.txt" 4. Wait for the command prompt to appear again, about 1 minute. Now the file called trace.txt should hold the trace route you took to the realm. ---------------- found 3724 but says filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect [ Post edited by Davidhc ] |

Hello Gunsman, Can you unplug the Westell modem for a minute to reset it? Are you using a router too? I'd reset that as well. |

Can you try a trace route again? tracert 12.129.233.11 > c:\trace.txt |
![]() Davidhc | Re: disconnect issuesTue, 02/02/10 09:51:58 AM PST Your trace looks good, Gunsman. I'd go ahead with your guildmate's suggestion:
It may also help to change the wireless mode on the router. |
